Jon Bon Jovi didn’t go into detail about his daughter’s overdose when he was asked about it during a recent promotional event for the Stand Up Guys soundtrack, but he did make it clear how appreciative he is of the outpouring of support he’s gotten from fans. The singer’s nineteen-year-old daughter Stephanie was recently rushed to the hospital after she experimented with heroin. Thanks to a law in New York designed to encourage drug users to seek help, she will avoid prosecution, but not surprisingly, the fallout is still being felt by her entire family.

Calling it a moment that should make it clear to everyone he’s fundamentally a human dealing with the same problems as everyone else, Bon Jovi said life will go on in the wake of this devastation. Here’s a portion of his exact quote, as per The Los Angeles Times
”This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good."

This is a good example of handling a tough situation with class and sophistication. By addressing the topic on everyone’s mind, Bon Jovi got the subject out of the way in order to move past it; yet, he didn’t go into so much detail that he aired the family’s dirty laundry.

Pop Blend’s sincerest thoughts go out to the entire Bon Jovi/ Bongiovi family at this hour. Jon has a very busy schedule with Hurricane Sandy relief appearances/ events coming up. Here’s to hoping he can find the right balance to heal both his community and his family.
