Maxim Hot 100: Does Bar Refaeli Deserve The Top Spot?
A lot of different magazines put out lists of beautiful women throughout the year. Of course, Maxim is no exception, but what separates their Hot 100 from other lists is a willingness to honor women who might be a little less famous. In addition to some of the more expected previous winners like Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan, Maxim has also selected Estella Warren, Marisa Miller and now, Bar Refaeli.
The Israeli model has been steadily rising in popularity since she first appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2009. Numerous major fashion shoots and endorsement deals followed, but still, she’s not exactly Jennifer Aniston famous, which is why it’s a bit surprising this year, of all years, she took home the number one slot. For the first time, Maxim allowed its readers to participate through online voting. You would have thought that would have led to someone incredibly famous, but apparently, Maxim readers are well-versed on beautiful women.
According to USA Today, the rest of the top ten were Olivia Munn, Mila Kunis, Katy Perry, Olivia Wilde, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Megan Fox, Malin Akerman and Adrianne Palicki. Notably, TV host Stephen Colbert wound up in 69th thanks to vigorous support from his nation.
I’m definitely a supporter of Refaeli’s hotness, but I’m still not quite sure I would have selected her as the hottest woman in the world. What do you think? Does this sound right to you or is she a bit overrated here? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
