Miley Cyrus has been busy changing up her image via hairstyle and outfit choices, as well as showing people how to twerk whenever possible. The 20-year-old is a youth no longer and she showed this even further on Tuesday evening when she hit the set to be interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. In the past, the rumor mill has abounded with whispers that Cyrus may be an avid pot smoker, but she’s never once addressed the rumors until last night, when she admitted to being excited about the activity.
Cyrus was on the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote the singer’s newest single, “We Can’t Stop,” but Kimmel, in usual spitball fashion, wanted to talk about her relationship with Snoop Lion, whom she is thankfully close enough with to not have to worry about the second half of the rapper’s ever-evolving name (she just calsl him 'Snoop'). The two have spent some time hanging together while she was working on her track “Ashtrays & Heartbreaks.”
The two seem like unlikely pair of friends, but Cyrus told the late night host she and the famous rapper are actually quite alike. This seemed to amuse Kimmel, who made a joke about Snoop Lion being too high to “even know what he is saying.” Miley’s response made it seem like she’s constantly dipping her hands in the marijuana cookie jar, as well.
“Me too. We both are. So, yeah, that’s why we get along so well, I guess.
Perhaps Kimmel should have been talking about the wild and wacky video that is “We Can’t Stop,” as Cyrus did perform her new single outside later that night. Since the song’s release last week, the video has already attracted over 33.5 million YouTube hits and is well on its way to becoming a massive hit. The song is also currently ranked second on the iTunes song charts.
In the song, there’s a line that potentially references Cyrus’ possible drug habit, with Cyrus singing her name in a way that suspiciously sounds like “molly,” a reference to ecstasy. Cyrus vehemently denied the accusations to MTV, stating she was saying “Miley” all along. The singer may not be tra-la-la-ing about heavy drugs, but as her interview with Kimmel seems to have gone, she may very well be more open about pot use in the future.
“We Can’t Stop” is the first single off of Cyrus newest musical endeavor, which has yet to be titled. In addition to hanging out with Snoop, Cyrus has been in the studio recording with will.i.am, Dr. Luke, and Pharrell.
