Peter Facinelli Tells Kelly Ripa He Still Loves Jennie Garth

Peter Facinelli might not have wanted to speak at length about his impending divorce from wife Jennie Garth, but there’s really no way to avoid the subject when you’re co-hosting Live With Kelly. The Nurse Jackie actor was sitting beside Kelly Ripa on this morning’s episode when the subject came up, and rather than dodge it, he decided to speak from the heart and explain the sadness he still feels, as well as his plans for the future.

Apparently, he’s fully committed to his soon-to-be ex-wife remaining in the picture. That might seem like a given since there’s three lovely daughters involved, but divorced couples often do everything they can to avoid each other’s presence. Take a look at the quote below…

"Jen and I are doing really well. She'll always be in my life. I love her — we're just going to have a different relationship."

Perhaps a bit troubling, his sad story was treated to some hoops and hollers by a few fans in the live studio audience. Rather than express any sort of resentment toward the lack of tact, Facinelli and Ripa decided to turn the story in a light-hearted direction and recounted a recent girls night out evening the Twilight actor accompanied the host on.

”I woke up two weeks later in Mexico, and then I got a divorce.”

Judging by the expressions on Facinelli’s face, it’s obvious he’s really broken up about the implosion of his relationship, but after seventeen years, he probably should be. He went on to explain that he’s going to try to avoid speaking more publicly for the sake of his children, which sounds like a good idea to me.

Pop Blend wishes the whole family nothing but the best as they adjust to new living situations and new relationships.
