Former Chopper City Boyz rapper VL Mike has been shot dead in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The 32-year-old star - real name Michael Allen - was gunned down as he got out of his car on Sunday (Apr08). He was rushed to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police report that the gunman escaped on foot, but have yet to confirm a suspect or motive for the killing.
Allen featured on the Chopper City Boyz's debut album We Got This in 2007, but later left the group to pursue a solo career. At the time of his death, he was reportedly in negotiations with several major record labels for the release of his new album, reports AllHipHop.com. (LR/WNWCAH/CAM)
