Rolling Stones Will Resume Touring After Mick Jagger's Tragedy

Even after a huge tragedy, Mick Jagger is showing that he is a true musician and won't let anything slow him and his legendary group down.

Billboard reports that Mick Jagger and the rest of the Rolling Stones will resume touring following concert cancellations after the sudden death of Jagger's longtime girlfriend, and fashion designer, L'Wren Scott. On March 17th, Scott was found dead in her apartment after committing suicide. The sudden passing of his partner of 13 years led Jagger and the band to cancel the rest of their Australian dates to allow the frontman time to grieve and make arrangements.

All tickets for the canceled shows will be honored at a future date for those hoping to attend any of the performances. Despite the awful circumstances of the cancellation, the Stones and those associated with staging the tour could still be on the hook for upwards of $10 million dollars, and fans have ben left guessing when the band will return to the land down under..

This isn't the first time in the past few years that a concert tour has been canceled due to tragedies or illnesses. Last year, Fleetwood Mac canceled their world tour after founding member John McVie was diagnosed with cancer. Morrisey canceled an entire tour last spring after a slew of health problems sidelined the singer. Rapper Frank Ocean cut short his Australian tour last summer after tearing his vocal cords. Taking time for getting well or to grieve can be essential to preserving the health and sanity of musicians.

Stones fans in Europe will still get to enjoy their leg of the “14 On Fire” tour at 14 festivals and concert venues across the continent. The stops are the continuation of their world tour that began last year and earned the group nearly $126 million dollars in revenue. Though the guys are definitely aging, it doesn't appear to have any affect on how badly they want to hit the stage.

The Rolling Stones put on an epic and memorable stage show, with front man Jagger squarely in the spotlight. This tour promises to be another hit. With support of his band mates, family and giant fan base, we hope Jagger is able to keep rocking through probably one of the hardest times of his life.
