Subscribe To The Big Game Of Thrones Battle That's Probably Coming To Season 7 Updates
There are few shows as wide reaching and popular as HBO's Game of Thrones. Season 6 raked in an impressive amount of Emmy nominations and wins, and completely surprised readers of George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire book series with twists and turns that no one could have predicted. There are just two short seasons of the fantasy drama left, so the droves of fans have all year to theorize as to what will go down in the final episodes of the long running series. Now one report may have given us a clue as to one of the big battles of the new season, and it looks like a doozy.
WinterIsComing.net is one of the many Game of Thrones websites that play Nancy Drew while the series is filming. When paying attention to the various casting requests happening for Season 7, they noticed that a battle is brewing, likely with Daenerys Targaryen's newly formed army. A new shoot is calling for a whopping 500 extras and 100 horses, which would make sense for Dany's army of Unsullied and Dothraki forces. Considering where we last left of in Season 6's explosive finale, this makes a great deal of sense.
When we last saw Daenerys, she was making Game of Thrones history. After seeing Khaleesi slowly amass forces, maturity, and dragons for the past 6 years, Dany finally set sail for Westeros- to the joy of Game fans who had been eagerly awaiting this moment. And now that Dany has House Tyrell, House Martell, and House Greyjoy all backing her, she's truly a force to be reckoned with in Westeros proper.
We can assume that the big conflict for the remaining two seasons will be between Dany and Cersei, who will desperately attempt to stay on the Iron Throne. Luckily for Queen Cersei, there is another villain who will likely be joining forces with House Lannister- Theon and Yara's evil Uncle Euron Greyjoy. While we only saw Euron twice during Season 6 of Game of Thrones, it was clear that he was a total asshole. He killed his brother for the Salt Throne, and then set out to kill his niece and nephew after the ritualistic drowning that crowned him. So while Yara and Theon are safe in Dany's protection, he's got the actual mass of House Greyjoy's ships at his disposal, and will likely use them to arrange a marriage with Cersei.
Personally, I can't wait to see Daenerys' forces in action. Last season was a game changer for the Khaleesi, as she now has enough powerful families, ships, and armies to presumably conquer the Seven Kingdoms. Of course, it's still not clear how Jon, Sansa, and their Northern forces will fit into this equation, but we can assume House Stark will back Dany's quest to take down Cersei.
