Watch Ryan Seacrest Get Trapped In An Elevator Under The NYE Ball

Ryan Seacrest is often up to various activities. One of the biggest is hosting New Year's Rockin' Eve on ABC. However, he could have missed the big broadcast earlier this week when he and a bunch of other people got stuck in an elevator in Times Square. Never one to miss a publicity opportunity, Ryan Seacrest filmed part of the stuck elevator escapade, and you can give it a watch, below.

As Seacrest notes in his video post, he was stuck "underneath the ball" in the famed New York City square. He and the team on the elevator were all supposed to be heading to Good Morning American on New Year's Eve when the crowded elevator got stuck. From some murmurings among the group on the elevator, it seems that they had rung the emergency button a few times and nothing had happened. They tried again on the video before Ryan Seacrest posted it to Instagram. Honestly, it's pretty lucky that he even had cell service on the elevator.

Shortly thereafter, Ryan Seacrest made a second post of the elevator doors sitting, closed, until a firefighter came through and opened the doors with a wide grin on his face. Everyone on the elevator cheered and Seacrest went on to a day of lively New Year's Eve activities, including one very memorable Mariah Carey performance later in the evening.

I know this video has a happy ending, but does anyone else think this situation was probably a nightmare? I'm not a fan of feeling enclosed and claustrophobic in any situation, for any given amount of time, much less when the minutes drag on and there's no place to use the bathroom. It's a good thing Ryan Seacrest posted the follow-up or I probably would have been panicking.

Anyway, all's well that ends well and you can catch Ryan Seacrest as the host of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve again at the end of 2017, or you can always check out On Air with Ryan Seacrest during the week. At least at that gig he's not getting stuck in elevators in Times Square.
