Like, Zoinks man, Sam and Dean have really gotten into it this time! The Supernatural crew will be teaming up with Scooby-Doo in a Season 13 crossover that sounds too good to be true. Take a look at all three together as a team in the tweet below and continue reading for more details:
Comicbook reports The CW's Supernatural crossover will be an animated adventure, so you won't have to worry about some of the networks less than ideal CGI coming into play with Scooby-Doo. The Season 13 episode is confirmed to have all the characters you love from Scooby-Doo, Sam & Dean, and some unannounced characters from Supernatural as well. No story details have been announced as of yet, but we can't imagine anything too extreme is going to be happening in the beloved world of Hanna Barbera right? I'm just wondering if the villain will be your standard man in the mask, or perhaps something a bit crazier to stay in tune with the series and a few Scooby-Doo films.
I assume the Supernatural team will be working with the Scooby-Doo team that sports the aesthetic many of us remember from the late 60's to early 70's show, but who knows given the transformations the franchise has seen throughout the past few decades. The Scooby-Doo featured in the photo looks more like the Scooby most people would know, and far away from the odd version briefly featured on the Cartoon Network series Be Cool, Scooby-Doo. The franchise has also gone a little off the rails with a recent comic book entry, where Scooby and the gang have tackled things as deep as the apocalypse. With past teams ups like Batman and Robin, The Harlem Globetrotters, The Addams Family and more, will the Supernatural team be up to task and deliver a performance on par with what we've seen in the past?
Considering the things Supernatural has dived into, I'd say Sam and Dean are up to the task. In addition to having its own short run anime, the show has made a point to delve into the weird and inventive throughout its impressive run on The CW. Compared to an episode where they played actors playing themselves in a show called Supernatural, a team up with Scooby-Doo sounds like a cake walk!
More details will likely come to light regarding Scooby-Doo and Supernatural as Season 13 for the series is set to lead in Arrow this year.
