The show is gearing up for its finale next week, and we now know that a very familiar face will be back. Julianne Hough, who was a fan favorite contributor to Dancing with the Stars for years as both a dancer and a judge, will be back as guest judge. Hough made the announcement herself via social media. Take a look!
Julianne Hough will be back as a guest judge on the Season 25 finale of Dancing with the Stars next week, according to her Instagram post. Her return should be good news for any fans who were dreading the end of another cycle of the series. Sure, we may be in for another hiatus, but at least Julianne Hough will be in the mix for the big finale. She also evidently has a big surprise in store for viewers, so it should definitely be worth tuning in to see her announcement. Julianne and brother Derek Hough are big names on the Dancing with the Stars circuit; her return should make for an exciting finale on top of all the dancing.
Dancing with the Stars fans got their first look at Julianne Hough back in Season 4, when she was a professional dancing partner. She remained on board as a dancer through Season 8, winning the top prize with a celebrity partner on two occasions. Hough became a full-time judge on Dancing with the Stars beginning in Season 19, and she stuck around as a judge through Season 21. She took a break for Season 22, but then came back for Seasons 23 and 24. Her appearance in the finale will finally get her in front of the camera for Season 25, even if she left it until almost the very last minute.
The penultimate episode of Dancing with the Stars Season 25 saw Victoria Arlen and professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy eliminated from competition. The remaining couples are Lindsey Stirling (despite a serious injury) and Mark Ballas, Drew Scott and Emma Slater, Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold, and Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson. Season 25 is still anybody's game, and it's difficult to predict with any certainty which couple will take home the top prize. Julianne Hough and the other judges will undoubtedly have their work cut out for them in evaluating the final performances of the season.
You can catch Julianne Hough back on Dancing with the Stars on Monday, November 20 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Even if she's only appearing as a guest judge, it should be fun to see her back on her old stomping grounds.
