It’s been well over a year since we’ve seen Jack Bauer kicking ass on the small screen. Fox is making it up to us though because as you’ve probably heard, the network is going to air a 2-hour 24 prequel event this fall. While that might be months away, you can get a little taste of what’s in store for Jack Bauer by checking out this trailer.

According to Fox, the premise of the prequel is:

"Shot on location in South Africa, Jack Bauer battles an international crisis, while here at home the nation prepares for a new president on inauguration day. Taking place just a few months before the new day dawns, the prequel will set the stage and raise the stakes for Season Seven."

There was talk last year that the writers were planning on using a story arc involving Africa for the seventh season but it was scrapped due to budget issues. Then the strike happened and the whole seventh season was postponed. Based on the trailer below, it looks like this prequel might be the payoff for the extra-long series hatius.

TrailerAddict.com, posted the trailer. It seems real enough but the voice-over sounds weird (almost like it was done as a temporary voice-over until the real voice-over guy with the deep voice got around to doing it.) Regardless, I don’t think I realized how much I missed Jack Bauer until I saw him break someone’s neck with his leg in the trailer below:

The 24 prequel will air on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. EST on Fox
