Did Chrissy Metz Really Call Alison Brie A Bitch On Golden Globes Red Carpet?

Golden Globes 2019 got itself an early controversy when This Is Us star Chrissy Metz seemed to call GLOW star Alison Brie a bitch on the red carpet. A couple of hours later, Metz denied saying anything bad about Brie. But TV viewers heard something, and clips of the moment quickly started making the rounds. Here's one video that captured the moment, although it's hard to make out the ending -- which is the key part:
Since we don't see Chrissy Metz say the end part on camera, it's very possible she...
1.) Was just joking around. "I'm like 'Do I [know her]'? She's such a bitch!" And maybe it would be clear she was just kidding if we saw her.
2.) Didn't really say she's such a "bitch," it just sounded that way to many TV viewers. Maybe she said "such a babe"? Or even "she's so sweet"?
There's nothing obvious that would've come between the two stars. They even seemed to be friends. As Entertainment Weekly noted, Chrissy Metz and Alison Brie smiled and posed together last year at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. So I'm leaning toward the idea that Metz was joking around with the red carpet hosts.
UPDATE: Later on Sunday, while the Globes were still airing, Chrissy Metz took to Twitter to deny a story about calling Alison Brie a bitch, tweeting:
I adore Alison and would never say a bad word about her, or anyone! I sure hope she knows my heart.
It didn't look like Alison Brie heard the comment, it was just picked up by TV viewers. But this will surely get back to Alison Brie in some way. What did Chrissy Metz say, is the question she didn't answer.
Chrissy Metz plays Kate Pearson on This Is Us and was nominated at last year's Golden Globes for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series or TV Movie. This Is Us was snubbed this year, and even though some fans were upset, Milo Ventimiglia took it in stride.
Alison Brie was nominated this year for Best Actress In A Comedy Series for her lead role as Ruth Wilder in Netflix's GLOW, the amazing series on the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. The actress is married to Dave Franco, and they co-starred in his brother James Franco's The Disaster Artist, which was nominated at last year's Globes for Best Motion Picture -- Musical or Comedy.
As of this writing, the Golden Globe Awards are still alive and kicking, but catch up on all of the movie winners and TV winners whenever you have time. When this show is over, there will be plenty more on the awards front with the Oscars ahead, but also much more midseason 2019 TV to watch.
