Mackenzie Hancsicsak attended the SAG Awards as part of the This Is Us cast; however, she had other goals in mind. The enterprising young Girl Scout also used the opportunity to sell some cookies. As it turns out, she cleaned up pretty well from the endeavor, selling over 100 boxes during the awards.
Because Girl Scout cookies cost upwards of $5 bucks these days –with regions setting their own prices for the sweet delights--this means Mackenzie Hancicsak brought in roughly $500 for the products she was able to sell at the SAG Awards.
We agree with you [sic]! She’s such an amazing business young lady!
In addition, Mackenzie Hancicsak also donated 20 boxes to the troops.
This Is Us’ Mackenzie Hancicsak went on to do more than sell Girl Scout cookies at the SAG Awards. She and her castmates on the NBC drama won for Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Drama Series. She later posted a series of images of herself and the rest of the This Is Us cast celebrating her win.
This isn’t the first time Mackenzie Hancicsak sold cookies for the Girl Scout troupe she belongs to. Last year, the young actress reportedly sold 100 boxes to Dan Fogelman, the creator of This Is Us. He then shared them with the cast and crew on the NBC drama. It's not the first time a celebrity has gotten celebrities to buy the popular cookies at an awards show, either, as Chris Rock totally sold a ton a few years ago when he was hosting the Academy Awards.
As someone who works with a bunch of people myself, I have to say, it’s pretty nice to have at least one person on staff with the Girl Scout cookies hook-up. Keep it up Miss Hancicsak. If acting doesn't work out, perhaps you'll have a budding career as a salesperson. (Although with This Is Us earning accolades left and right, you're on the right track.)
Currently, This Is Us is on hiatus, but the show will return to the schedule on Tuesday, February 5 at 9 p.m. ET, only on NBC. You can take a look at what else is coming with our midseason TV premiere schedule.
