CBS has decided to keep the blood pumping on its long-running crime procedural. The Eye Network has renewed Blue Bloods for a tenth season! In a celebratory tweet, the show made it Twitter official by announcing Season 10 on its handle.

The excellent news ensures that Blue Bloods will get to cross a significant milestone. Season 10 will see the series celebrate its 200th episode. That feat is a huge one for the drama, which has been a Friday night winner for CBS for some time. Blue Bloods premiered in 2010 and will, accordingly, celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2020.

The happy tidings do not end there for Blue Bloods. That is because you do not have to worry about seeing your favorite cast members in Season 10. Series lead, Tom Selleck, has signed a new deal, per Deadline, thus guaranteeing his return. Selleck’s deal is for one-year, which will have him continue to star on Blue Bloods for at least the landmark tenth season.

Contract talks with the rest of the cast are reportedly ongoing, but everyone is expected to return. This means that there's no reason, right now, for Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Sami Gayle, Marisa Ramirez and Vanessa Ray, among others, not to return to the drama.

Season 10 will kick off this fall. In the meantime, there is the rest of Blue Bloods’ current season to look forward too. Season 9 continues tonight with a new episode entitled “Common Enemies.” You can check out the trailer for it below and regroup later for further details.

As you can see from the trailer, Frank is finally meeting Eddie’s mother, Lena. She is a pistol, to say the least. Lena has some misguided ideas regarding her proximity to the Police Commissioner. Getting out of parking tickets is something she is already bringing up, but Frank seems ready to disabuse her of that notion.

Tom Selleck is always great at playing in these sort of awkward character scenarios. So, this should be a fun episode for Blue Bloods fans on the Frank side of things. Elsewhere on the Reagan front, things will be active, with Danny teaming up with Lou Diamond Phillips’ Luis Delgado to track down the killer of Luis' wife.

The murderer broke into the couple’s home and murdered Luis’ wife during the break-in, but it turns out that there is a personal connection between Danny and the murder case. The murderer of Luis’ wife may also be the one responsible for the death of Danny’s wife, Linda. She was killed off-screen on Blue Bloods between Season 7 and Season 8.

Meanwhile, two of the Reagan siblings will find themselves on different sides in “Common Enemies” when Jamie wants Erin’s help charging a man. The problem? The man confessed to Jamie while under the influence.

Find out how the Reagans work it out and continue on the road to Season 10 when the new episode of Blue Bloods airs Friday, April 12 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
