For its long run on HBO, Game of Thrones was the pinnacle of must-see TV and water cooler talk. It’s hard to believe that the series ended back in 2019, but fans have seen the iconic cast move on to other projects. That includes Sansa Stark actress Sophie Turner, who recently went full Winterfell by once again becoming a redhead for the first time since GoT concluded.

Audiences watched Sophie Turner grow up throughout the run of Game of Thrones, with Sansa also changing from spoiled princess to cunning politician. But in the past few years Turner has been rocking blonde locks, as she got married and continued acting. But now she’s once again a redhead, which should make all those Sansa stans out there happy. Check it out below.

Sophie Turner's Instagram story

As Ramsay Bolton said shortly before his death: Hello, Sansa. Looks like Sophie Turner has returned to her roots… literally. We’ll just have to wait and see if this makeover is for a new film project, or just for kicks and giggles.

The above image comes to us from the Instagram story of Sophie Turner herself. She debuted the new look to her outstanding 15.1 million followers, while also tagging teenage music sensation Olivia Rodrigo. It looks like Turner is rocking some of Rodrigo’s official merchandise in the image, coming from her recent album Sour.

Aside from her tenure in Game of Thrones and playing Jean Grey in the X-Men franchise, Sophie Turner is also known for her signature personality and sense of humor. The public has delighted in seeing her come out of her shell, whether its chugging red wine, or her adventures with husband Joe Jonas.

It looks like Sophie Turner took a break from Game of Thrones like the rest of us following its eighth and final season on the HBO. But the world of Westeros will be back on the small screen before we know it, as the network moves forward with a prequel series about the Targaryens. So it's a perfect time for Turner to return as a red head, while also being able to enjoy the iconic property as an audience member for the first time.

Since ending her run as Sansa in Game of Thrones, Sophie Turner has been busy with a variety of acting projects. Her role as Jean Grey was greatly expanded in Dark Phoenix, which marked the final entry in the long-running X-Men franchise. She also starred in the Quibi series Survive, and is in the main cast of upcoming shows The Prince and The Staircase.

Game of Thrones fans will continue waiting on bated breath for official news about the upcoming prequel series. In the meantime, check out the 2021 summer premiere list to plan your next binge watch.
