When it was announced there would be a remake of the 80s classic Knight Rider TV show, there was grumbling that William Daniels, the original voice of K.I.T.T. the talking car, would not be reprising his role. The whiners will probably shut up today, though, since Will Arnett will be taking over the job.

Yes, Gob Bluth will be working on a show that also involves a David Hasselhoff cameo. If that’s not enough to make your television dreams come true, then I don’t know what can be done for you. The show will premiere as a two-hour movie on Sunday, February 17. I have no idea what this means they’ll do next, since obviously no new scripts are being written until the writers’ strike is over. There’s full details from NBC at ComingSoon.net, much of which we’ve already covered here at Blend Television.

There’s more big Knight Rider news today, with pictures of the original K.I.T.T. showing up on Spoiler TV. NBC also unveiled the design for the new K.I.T.T., so it seems likely the old version will be there to pass the torch off to the new one, or something like that. High-res versions of old K.I.T.T are at Spoiler TV, and the new one is at Jalopnik. Below are a few samples, just to give you the idea. Old K.I.T.T. is first, followed by new K.I.T.T.
