Subscribe To No New Arrow Tonight, But Don't Blame Stephen Amell Updates
There's no new Arrow tonight. Those who tune into the CW tonight at 8:00 expecting to see Oliver and Deathstroke face off will be disappointed to find "Time of Death" airing instead. But I mean, in terms of reruns, that was a pretty great episode so before you start chucking stuff at your television, flash back to the memory of Felicity being adorably loopy on "aspirin." And whatever you do, don't blame Stephen Amell for this break between episodes.

The actor went on record recently to address complaints about the gaps between new episodes, telling his Facebook followers:
I hate breaks AS MUCH AS EVERYONE ELSE. My favorite thing about the latter seasons of 24 and Lost? They'd start later in the year and air uninterrupted until the finale. Love that strategy. If I had any input on the show beyond reciting my lines and doing as many crunches as possible, I'd advocate that strategy.

So... knowing all of this, instead of complaining - legitimately or lightheartedly - about the number of mini breaks the show takes, why don't we just all go on living our lives.

Complaining to me is like yelling at Rogers for the Blue Jays being terrible. Actually... bad example. We should blame Rogers consistently and with all of our hearts.

But do you see what I mean? I'm sure you do.

Ok?... OK!! (xoxoxoxo cyber hug)

I'm now picturing Stephen Amell's on-set to-do list including these two items: Recite lines. Do crunches.

But I'm with him on appreciating the approach some past shows have taken in avoiding random gaps between new episodes. While I'm sure the network has its reasons for holding the show up, whether it's to make sure a certain episode lands right in time for sweeps or due to the production schedule or needing the finale to air on a specific date, the network surely has its reasons for why they make us wait. But in this era of binge-watching, which may be causing us to become less patient for the next new episode of any show we love, those awkward gaps might be frustrating enough to cause a person to set a series aside and revisit it via Netflix or DVD once the season has wrapped up. I don't think I could do that with Arrow though. Need to know what happens next!

That brings us to the previously released trailer and description for next week's "The Man Under the Hood."

DEATHSTROKE HITS OLIVER AT HOME — Oliver (Stephen Amell), Canary (Caity Lotz), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) return to the lair and find Slade (Manu Bennett) waiting for them. An epic battle breaks out and one member of TeamArrow is sent to the hospital. Thea (Willa Holland) hits her breaking point, but just as Oliver is about to reach her, Slade intervenes and Oliver is faced with a choice – his battle with Slade or his family. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) struggles with a new secret. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Geoff Johns and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Keto Shimizu (#219).

We took a closer look at the trailer to dig for details about what's happening in "The Man Under the Hood." See what we found here. And you can check out more photos from the episode here.

Arrow airs Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. ET on CW.
