The CW Sets Premiere Dates For Summer Series The Catalina And Breaking Pointe

Soon enough, Starz won’t be the only network with a drama series about a Miami Hotel. The CW set the premiere dates for two of their summer series, among which is The Catalina, a drama about a “rocking Miami hotel.” Also set for a May premiere is the network’s new unscripted series Breaking Pointe.

The CW announced the news today, stating that The Catalina will debut on Tuesday, May 29 (8:00 p.m.). The series follows the “young, wild staff” of a hotel in Miami. “NAcenters on the young, wild staff of The Catalina hotel in Miami’s South Beach.

“The fun-loving group forms their own dysfunctional family unit, and they work hard during the day, while at night they party even harder than their guests”

It sounds like the right kind of drama for The CW to air during the summertime. Set to debut the following Thursday (May 31 at 8:00 p.m.) is Breaking Pointe, an unscripted series that offers “an intense, unfiltered look at one of the most competitive ballet companies in the country, Ballet West, in Salt Lake City, Utah.” Produced by BBC Worldwide Productions, it sounds like this will be an interesting show for dance enthusiasts, especially those with an interest in ballet.

The CW also has musical competition series The Star Next Door and game show Oh Sit set to debut at some point this summer, but the network has yet to schedule premiere dates for them.
