We're closing in on the last handful of episodes of the season for Dexter, and it doesn't seem like things could get any more complicated for the lead character. Of course, the series is likely to prove us wrong there. The preview clips for next Sunday's "Helter Skelter" indicate that Isaak is prepared to move forward on Operation Payback.

Before we get to the clips, here's the preview for "Helter Skelter," which in addition to revealing Isaak's plans for Dexter, also show LaGuerta continuing her investigation!

We have two main issues happening right now. The first is Dexter and Isaak's situation, which appears to be crossing into Dexter's relationship with Hannah. We'll talk about that in a minute. The other thing is LaGuerta's investigation, which I'm starting to think could be the set-up for next season, assuming she finds enough evidence to suspect Dexter is the real Bay Harbor Butcher. LaGuerta's investigation seems to be building up slowly, which could make it the perfect cliffhanger for the finale after all of this Isaak/Hannah stuff is resolved (for better or worse).

And that brings us to the clips, both of which feature scenes glimpsed in the teaser above. This first one has Dexter discovering that Isaak has taken Hannah.

It sounds like this is more than just payback. I'm sure Isaak would be happy to kill Hannah to even the score with Dexter for killing Viktor, but he mentions two men who want him dead and Dexter's stubborn refusal to help him. So perhaps revenge isn't the only thing on Isaak's menu. We know his vendetta against Dexter has put him on the wanted list by his own people. Maybe he's hoping Dexter will help get him out of that mess?

And here we have Dexter talking to Deb about the situation. Unsurprisingly, she's not especially concerned about Hannah's well-being.

Kind of with Deb on this one. Hannah's no good. Of course, I can't imagine Dexter just turning his back on her. Still, I have to admit, if it came down to Deb and Hannah as far as Isaak going after someone Dexter cares about, better it be Hannah than Deb, right? Now we just have to see if/how Dexter gets her out of this situation.

Dexter airs Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET on Showtime.
