The latest bit of promotional art for the upcoming seventh season of Showtime's Dexter gets right down to it, addressing the topic fans have been pondering since the sixth season closed out with a few very intense final moments. What are the words Dexter might be saying over and over in his mind as he attempts to quell his dark passengers survival instinct?
"I will not kill my sister. I will not kill my sister. I will not kill my sister."
Showtime posted this image on their Instagram feed today, which gives us a little tease into what might be going on in Dexter Morgan's head since his lieutenant sister caught him murdering Travis in the church during the Season 6 finale…
It's simple. Gets right to the point. A trademark cheek-slice with a nice little mental mantra - likely to be the words Dexter telling himself as he tries to figure out how to deal with the fact that his sister has seen in in one of his darkest moments.
The cheek-slice was used in the recently released poster for Season 7, with Dexter's face shown cut open the same way he cuts his victims to get a drop of their blood for his slide.
We're coming up on the one- month countdown to Season 7, which premieres on Showtime on Sunday, September 30 at 9:00 p.m. ET on Showtime.
