Just two episodes in and Game of Thrones is already causing family strife. Sunday night’s episode prompted a physical altercation between two viewers that resulted in one man getting arrested and the other suffering a minor cut to the shoulder.

TheSmokingGun.com posted the story and part of the police report, which states that a 23-year-old man got into a dispute with his cousin/roommate over an argument having to do with HBO’s Game of Thrones. The report is vague on exactly what they were arguing about other than saying they were arguing over “who was going to win.” As the word “Game” in the series title is more figurative than it is an actual game being played, I’m thinking they were discussing a battle or tournament scenario or who would win the Iron Throne. Then again, maybe whoever drafted the report decided to paraphrase rather than doing a few hours worth of research to figure out what exactly the “Game of Thrones” is and who’s playing it.

I’ve bickered plenty of times with people over TV shows. It comes with the territory when you’re a passionate fan. This argument turned physical though, with one man throwing the other man “in to the front window,” according to the police report. Charges weren’t pressed. Let’s hope these two fans can move past this incident and enjoy the show without their disagreements coming to blows in the future.
