Game of Thrones is set to return in just a few short months, and the latest trailer has just enough to excite fans but not enough to sate our desire to watch the forthcoming clash of kings that will occur throughout the second season. HBO’s heralded epic tale of Westeros is as near to perfection as fantasy has ever gotten on television, and the second season looks to promise on the potential of what came previously.

The trailer below features “The Spider” Varys speaking with “The Imp” Tyrion about the game that is being played between the various kings of Westeros, who do not pledge fealty to Joffrey. The always fantastic music, along with the narration, helps to showcase exactly where we’re headed as the season begins. A world where the noble Ned Stark is dead, a petulant child sits upon the Iron Throne, two brothers lay claim to their dead brother’s throne, and Robb Stark takes up arms as the King in the North . Season 2 of Game of Thrones is poised to be even grander than last year.
