Golden Globe Award Ceremony Airs Tonight On NBC

The Golden Globes will air tonight and I think I’m actually more excited about the movie categories than I am about the TV-related awards. That could be at least partially to do with the fact that because I’m too cheap to get HBO or Showtime, I haven’t seen half of the shows (and miniseries) on the nomination list. Plus, with Spielberg being honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, that alone is reason enough to watch.

And we all know that these awards shows are about so much more than winners and losers. Sure, that might not be the case for the nominees but for us, the viewers, it’s all about celebrity appearances, fancy dresses, clever speeches and wrap-it-up music. Since last year’s Golden Globes went sans ceremony, hopefully this year’s show will make it up to us.

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air Sunday, January 11 on NBC (8-11 p.m. ET). NBC is also airing a red-carpet pre-show starting at 7:00 p.m. ET.
