On Thursday, Jason Sudeikis stopped by the set of ABC’s The View to be interviewed by Barbara Walters and the gaggle of women who make up the show’s panel. Mostly, he was on set to talk about his new movie Epic, but Walters wouldn’t be a good journalist if she didn’t ask the Saturday Night Live funnyman if he will be returning to the hit program next year. Sudeikis was surprisingly candid in his response, but unfortunately, it seems like he is undecided about returning to the late night program.
"Well, I mean, you never leave the show. I really believe that, I think these last few weeks have shown that with Kristen [Wiig] coming back to host… Will I be working there in the fall?...I don't know. I sincerely don't know at this point.”

The news in recent weeks has been populated by stories about cast members leaving the long-running late night program. Seth Meyers was the first to go, getting his own late night talk show, although he will be appearing in episodes of SNL this fall. He was soon followed by Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, who bid coworkers and fans farewell during last weekend’s season finale.

Sudeikis also told Walters he is going to go on vacation and take some time to think about the show and his prospects over the summer, after he has the chance to say goodbye to some “near dear friends,” aka the guys in the former paragraph, who are definitely not returning to the program. So, it seems like the man’s still waffling, but as soon as he makes a decision, we’ll be sure to let you know.
