Jon Hamm And Daniel Radcliffe Bathe Together In A Young Doctor's Notebook Photo

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from the British miniseries, A Young Doctor’s Notebook. In the time since Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe were both cast as the same doctor at various ages in his life, the four-part miniseries adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov’s A Country Doctor’s Notebook has gotten well underway, and now Sky Arts has released the first images regarding the series.

Digital Spy first reported the pictures, which sort of explain how a haircut, costume, and a little bit of beard stubble can transform two actors who look nothing alike into a passable picture of one another. Hamm’s still got a lot on Radcliffe in the height department, however, which sort of reminds me of all of those shots of Reese Witherspoon standing next to Vince Vaughn in Four Christmases.

TV Blend reported earlier that the miniseries would be “bleakly comic,” and would feature the older version of the doctor, played by Hamm, having exchanges with his younger self, played by Radcliffe. Apparently the humor will still occasionally go for site gags in A Young Doctor’s Notebook, and one scene will even feature the two men in a bathtub together.

Along with acting, Hamm is also producing the project (alongside Big Talk Productions and Point West Pictures), and he’s excited about the upcoming miniseries for multiple reasons. However, he joked to Digital Spy the biggest challenge was learning the accent. He even kiddingly spoke about using a Bridget Jones’ Diary recording to get it down.

The UK will be able to see how Hamm and Radcliffe do in early December, when A Young Doctor’s Notebook is released on Sky Arts.
