Kate Beckinsale Walked In Stephen Merchant's Shoes On Last Night's Conan

Often seen or heard beside Ricky Gervais is Stephen Merchant, a writer and comedian who is likely familiar to those who listen to the Ricky Gervais Show podcast, the new series Life’s Too Short, Extras and his other hilarious projects. Last night, Merchant appeared on Conan to promote the upcoming premiere of Life’s Too Short on HBO next month. In the process, his fellow guest on the late night show, Kate Beckinsale was given the opportunity to walk (and dance) in Merchant’s shoes. She handled it like a champ.

Ricky Gervais appeared on Conan last week in anticipation of the Golden Globes. This week got off on the right foot (and in the right shoe) with Stephen Merchant guesting. Below is the video that has him sharing a story that involved a woman dancing around in his shoes, which is how Kate Beckinsale ended up sliding her feet into Merchant’s giant loafers. This all lead to a clip from Life’s too Short, which many of us have seen already, either because you live in the U.K. where the series has already aired, or because we saw the clip online previously. It’s a snippet from the hilarious Liam Neeson scene. Still funny, especially if you haven't seen it yet.

As great as it was, I sort of wish Merchant had promoted the upcoming season of An Idiot Abroad, which premieres on the Science Channel on Saturday, but I suppose they wanted to show something that featured merchant on screen. Here's another clip from the interview...

?And since she’s so adorably charming, here’s part of Kate Beckinsale’s interview, which includes her talking about Seth Rogen’s comments at the podium at the Golden Globes on Sunday night...

Conan airs weeknights at 11:00 p.m. on TBS.
