Michael and Michael Have Issues - It's On!

Back in August, I wrote a story about a pilot for a little show called Michael and Michael Have Issues. Comedy Central ordered the pilot, but never aired it, and it basically fell off the face of the earth for awhile.

If you take a peek at my previous article, you’ll see that I was pretty damn excited about this show. Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter have been two of my favorite comedians since I was in High School – and I’m swiftly approaching my 15 year reunion.

Thanks to a little inside scoop, I recently found out that the show has been given the “green light” – though the only reference online I can find is here.

Back when I first heard of this project, I was unaware that the incredible Josh Pais had been added to the cast. Josh is an amazing guy who’s been in over 60 films. If you are a Sex and the City fan, you’ll remember him as “the Modelizer”. He’s also just written an awesome book and periodically does workshops for his innovative acting process. You can get more info here.

Michael and Michael Have Issues should be premiering in the summer. Michael Ian Black had this to say about it, “Michael and I are already hard at work thinking of ideas. The first idea we came up with: try to make a show that people want to watch. This is a radical departure for us, but after a long and successful career spent making television programs which the public says “no thank you” to, we’ve decided to go in the opposite direction.”
