Neve Campbell Says An Amish Murder May Go To Series

Lifetime has a brand new original movie airing this weekend that will unsurprisingly take a late nineties/early 2000s star and place her into weird circumstances. Neve Campbell is set to star in An Amish Murder, a TV movie that Lifetime may into an original series should the movie do well—similar to the network’s The Client List.

An Amish Murder will follow Campbell as a woman who grew up in an Amish community but left as a young woman after a set of murders influenced her life. She eventually finds a career as a police officer who becomes haunted by her past when a set of murders reminiscent of those from her childhood pops up on her radar. According to TV Line, Campbell is executive producing the project, along with Poppy Montgomery and Barbara Lieberman.

Which means the actress has a lot at stake during Sunday night’s premiere other than simply a potential future acting gig. The actress has been working with Lifetime for the last several weeks to toss out details for a potential series and where An Amish Murder could lead in the future. Campbell believes that a series has “really good potential,” as long as the storytelling is good enough and the characters are deep enough that a series could be put together and run for multiple years--which may be a big 'if.' However, we’ll have to wait and see how An Amish Murder does in the ratings and reviews when it airs on Lifetime on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.
