Nostradamus Makes a Comeback

Fans of history’s most famed prophet will get their fix on Sunday, Oct. 28th at 9 p.m. ET/PT when Lost Book of Nostradamus premieres on The History Channel. The brand-new special examines a mysterious book of cryptic prophecies discovered at the National Library in Rome. Evidence suggests that it’s the final work of the famed prophet and that it predicts the end of the world.

Born in 1503 in Saint Remy de Provence, France, Nostradamus began his career with a series of almanacs published annually beginning in 1550. He rose to fame as the trusted seer to the queen of France, Catherine de Medici, wife of King Henri II. His predictions, some say, have covered everything from Hitler to 9/11. Lost Book of Nostradamus examines some of the predictions that made him famous, as well as some yet to come – like future turmoil for the Catholic Church (hasn’t that already happened?). Other images in the book are said to depict World War I and II, political movements such as Communism and Fascism, and current issues like terrorism, global warming, and even the current fires sweeping through California.

Ok, here’s my take on this – because I know you had that whole baited breath thing going. Stuff happens. Wars, deaths, natural disasters, and every other bad thing has been a part of global history since the beginning of time. Couldn’t it be that Nostradamus just had a good view of the world and its patterns? There’s no doubt the guy is fascinating in a dooms-day kind of way, but I’m just sayin’…
