Who knew when I looked into Portlandia solely based on a love for Sleater-Kinney, the show would speak to my so-anti-hipster-it's-hipster inner sensibility that I would continue watching for episodes to come? Portlandia has had an interesting presence on IFC from its beginning, and heading into its second season, the program is off to a strong start. Season 2 of Portlandia is set to begin airing a little early, and will feature a list of guest stars with enough acting and musical credentials to wrap around the block… twice.
As if that isn’t enough for promotion, IFC now plans to send Portlandia hosts Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armison across the country to get America excited about Season 2. Besides talking about Portlandia and the upcoming season, a key component of Portlandia: The Tour will be some live musical performances. According to THR, some screenings of the new season will also be involved in the live shows.
Portlandia: The Tour will kick off in Portland On December 27 with a show at the Hollywood Theatre. Several dates in large cities will follow. Overall, six cities will be visited across the U.S. If you are excited about the tour, tickets go on sale tomorrow. You can check out the full list of performances, below.
