Scandal Adds Fringe's Jasika Nicole In A Guest Starring Role

There's no new Scandal tonight. Again. On the bright side, the series will be back with a brand new episode next Thursday night when "Top of the Hour" airs. And Fringe fans will also be happy to know that Jasika Nicole is set to guest star in an episode of the series later this season.

TVLine posted the news, via a Tweet posted by Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes herself, who says Jasika Nicole will guest star in Episode 19 of the current second season of the ABC drama.

The episode is expected to air next month. Other than that, there's no additional information on the guest spot, or how she fits into the story.

Nicole may be best known for playing the role of Astrid Farnsworth in Fox's sci-fi drama Fringe. Her other credits include Law & Order; Criminal Intent, Take the Lead and She's Out of My League. This will be her first TV role since Fringe wrapped up at Fox in January. Given all of the devoted Fringe fans out there who are likely going through withdrawal from the series, Rhimes probably isn't the only one going totally fan-girl (or boy) with excitement.

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC. The next new episode airs March 21.

Kelly West
Assistant Managing Editor

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
