Seth MacFarlane To Host Saturday Night Live Season 38 Premiere, Additional Hosts Announced

Hot off the success of the feature comedy Ted, and that Family Guy Wheat Thins commercial, which has been around for a while but never seems to get old (much like the Cool hWhip scene by which it's inspired), Seth MacFarlane will do the honors of hosting the 38th season premiere of NBC's long-running sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live.

The Family Guy creator and voice-actor will be making his SNL debut, along with musical guest Frank Ocean. The episode will air on Saturday, September 15. As a fan of MacFarlane, this is pretty fantastic news.

Also great news, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) is set to host the September 22 episode in anticipation of the upcoming release of the sci-fi/action film Looper. This is Gordon-Levitt's second time hosting. Mumford & Sons will be the musical guest.

And James Bond himself will visit the studio later this fall. Daniel Craig is lined up to host the October 6 episode, about a month ahead of the release of Skyfall (November 9). Muse will be the musical guest for that episode.

Over all, it looks like SNL has a pretty solid line-up of guys to get Season 38 going. But who will be the first female to host? Just off the top of my head, and with this recent video for the upcoming musical comedy Pitch Perfect in mind, it'd be great if Rebel Wilson and/or Anna Kendrick were picked to host this season. Both have proven to be very funny, and I think they'd make great hosts.
