While Syfy’s Being Human is really just getting going on its second season, Syfy has good news to those of us who tune in every week to see what kind of trouble Aidan, Josh and Sally are getting up to. The series will return for a third season!

Based on a U.K. series by the same name, Being Human follows three young adults, each of whom are dealing with supernatural natures. Aidan is a vampire, who struggles with his appetite for human blood and tries to live off bagged blood from the hospital where he works. Josh is a werewolf who was once on track to become a doctor but now wants to find a way to cure himself. And Sally is a ghost, who is still coming to grips with life beyond death.

Just yesterday, we shared a very interesting clip from next Monday’s episode. While we have “Addicted to Love” to look forward to for Season 2, Syfy has already decided to move forward with a third season for the series, giving the drama a 13-episode order for Season 3. Viewership is up by 27%, with the last new episode bringing in 1.4 million adults 25-54 in the Live +7 data.

Slightly more than half of the show’s viewers, which according to Syfy, makes Being Human the most female-skewing scripted series ever for the network. As I’m part of the 52%, I’ll say that it’s great to hear the series will definitely be back for another season. It doesn’t fill the void left by Battlestar Galactica, and I wouldn’t mind another high-quality space-drama on the network, but Being Human is smart, sharp and fun, with a great cast, which includes BSG’s Sam Witwer, as well as Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington.

Being Human isn't the only Syfy series coming back for a third season. Special effects make-up competition series Face Off was also recently renewed for Season 3.
