UPDATED: Fans Attempt To Save Veronica Mars

Since The CW announced last month that they would not be picking up ‘Veronica Mars’ next season, many fans have refused to give up hope that the network would change their mind before the official deadline (June 15th). While many have declared that they are boycotting the network for having dropped one of their best shows, others are taking a page out of the “How to Be an Obsessive ‘Jericho’ Fan” book by sending The CW network Mars Bars.
After fans of ‘Jericho’ flooded the network with cans of nuts when they learned of the show’s cancellation, CBS has considered giving the series at least a few more episodes. Now ‘Veronica Mars’ fans are trying their best to convince Dawn Ostroff and The CW to renew the show for another season by sending Mars Bars to the network.
UPDATED: 6/8/2007:
When the folks over at Ain’t It Cool News came up with the idea to send Mars Bars to the CW, they decided to use The Indian Food Store’s amazon.com store to host this virtual chocolate march. Since yesterday fans have placed thousands of orders in an effort to get The CW to take them seriously. Amazon.com is taking a chunk of commission out of that money so now fans are being asked to contribute money through Paypal, which will make this effort much more cost effective. While fans pool their money to flood the CW with chocolate, The Indian Food Store is working hard to get every available Mars Bar in North America and prepare to ship whatever has been purchased by the fans to Dawn Ostroff and The CW. Contributions must be made by Monday, June 11th.
Can’t afford to contribute but want to tell the CW how you feel? Here’s where you can send a letter::

Whether or not this tactic will actually work is debatable. I’ve pretty much washed my hands of The CW, myself but you never know, right? Sending Mars Bars is a pretty obvious reference to the show but I personally would’ve sent a bag of marshmallows.
