You know how you don't realize someone has a habit of doing something until someone else points it out? How I Met Your Mother actually focused a whole episode on that scenario, and HBO's done it here with this funny look-back on Season 1 of their comedy series Veep. Vice President Selina Meyer has a tendency to repeatedly ask if the President has called, as though every day is the day after a first date. Of course, he hasn't called.
A look back at the first season of Armando Iannucci and Simon Blackwell's comedy serves two purposes really. Not only does it remind us that Season 1 released on DVD just last week, but also that the series, which stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the Vice President of the United States, is due to return in full force for its second season in just a couple of weeks, with a premiere date set for April 14.
Louis-Dreyfus is joined by Anna Chlumksy, Tony Hale, Matt Walsh, Timothy Simons, Reid Scott and Sufe Bradshaw in the series. Also joining them as a series regular, according to Deadline, is Kevin Dunn, who plays the President's "pragmatic Chief of Staff." Dunn joined the series for a recurring arc in Season 2 but was promoted to series regular when he was reportedly fielding offers for broadcast TV pilots. It sounds like Veep didn't want to lose him to another show. The actor's recent credits include Samantha Who? and a part in Unstoppable. He's also no stranger to HBO, having played Marcus in the premium cable channel's cancelled horse racing series Luck.
