Watch The Tonight Show Shove A Stupid Number Of People In A Phone Booth

In his relatively short time as the host of The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon has gotten celebrities to do some pretty weird things, not the least of which was Tom Cruise lip syncing Meat Loaf recently. But the new game segment “Phone Booth” is up there with the zaniest, and it’s probably the only time you’ll see Big Bird, Kevin Spacey and E.T. kicking it in the same room.

There are oh so many things to take away from this video. One is that Kevin Spacey doesn’t know what makes up a Manhattan, which surprised me for some reason. Two, that Spacey, Key & Peele star Keegan-Michael Key and Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns apparently have no idea how many teeth adults have. Three, that there are lots of ways to make euphemisms for penises when crammed into a phone booth. I’d assumed that last one was true, but it’s nice to see proof.

While Fallon is standing pretty all alone in his booth, Spacey finds himself half-smothered by the presence of Key, Towns, Arrested Development star Mae Whitman, and American Pharoah jockey and Triple Crown winner Victor Espinoza. As horrible as it is for everyone, at least The Tonight Show balanced the tall folks with shorter ones. And Espinoza is front and center of a hilariously fitting image.

The party really gets started when E.T., Hashtag the Panda and Big Bird come out; I bet Big Bird has had his share of Manhattans in the past, but don’t tell Gordon. Unfortunately, we don’t actually get to see all of these people actually pushed into one phone booth, as it would probably explode and get glass shards and feathers everywhere.

But we do get this shot of it almost happening, and I think it would be perfect for an album cover for my (fake) band Phone Booth Game on The Tonight Show.Whitman's face is gold.

This is the kind of game that I wish had a home version, as there are many of my friends that I’d like to see crammed into a phone booth together. I’d be the host in that situation, of course. Maybe we’ll get to see this game pop up again soon on The Tonight Show, hopefully with Dwayne Johnson, Peter Dinklage, Scarlett Johansson and Shaquille O’Neal.
