There will be no more delays to the first-person shooter Brink. In fact, the game has been finished a bit earlier than publisher Bethesda expected. They've decided to move up the release date a week.
Brink will be released in North America on May 10th instead of the 17th. The European release, originally scheduled for the 20th, will now arrive on the 13th.
“Production wrapped on Brink earlier than we planned and we didn’t see any reason to keep gamers from getting their hands on this highly anticipated game as soon as it was ready,” said Bethesda's Pete Hines. “It’s apparent from the tremendous reaction so far that people are eager to jump online and play, and if we can make that happen earlier – we’re going to.”
The earlier-than-expected launch will be a nice end to Brink's long and bumpy trip to stores. The shooter was first announced for a Spring 2010 release. It was delayed to Fall 2010 and then pushed to Spring 2011.
