Anarchy Reigns finally hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this week, wrapping a bizarre cast of characters and a dozen modes of gameplay in a blood-soaked tortilla of multiplayer arena combat action.
Reigns debuted in Japan in July of 2012. Set in a post-apocalyptic future where violence is king, players will compete in massive arenas in single player competitions or online, where they may team up with friends or take part in last-man-standing throw-downs.
Half of the cast is comprised of characters ripped straight out of the black and white Wii brawler, Mad World, including protagonist, Jack. The remainder of the cast is made up of new human and cyborg characters, as well as a special guest appearance from the most badass witch on the block, Bayonetta. Each character has a unique fighting style and arsenal of larger-than-life weaponry. They each have their own special kill move, too, adding that personal flair to the mind-numbing violence.
In single player, you’ll take control of Jack or Leo, each offering a different way to plow through the 10 hours of gameplay thanks to their varied abilities.
Combat also offers a pretty nifty feature called Action Trigger Events, which basically means the arena will become the home of a black hole, a plane crash or a blitz bombing in order to keep things fresh.
A discounted title, Anarchy Reigns will be launching at the low-low price of $29.99 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 starting tomorrow. For more details, a boatload of screenshots and videos showing off each of the playable characters, visit the Anarchy Reigns official website
