Battlefield 3 DLC Screenshots Head Back To Karkand

DICE has released screenshots for "Back to Karkand," the first expansion pack for Battlefield 3. "Karkand," due in December, updates four classic Battlefield maps with BF3's shiny new Frostbite 2 tech.

The expansion adds updated versions of these maps: Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula. Also included in the DLC are five dog tags, five Achievements/Trophies, three vehicles and 10 weapons. Furthermore, the expansion introduces a persistence system in which players are given assignments in exchange for rewards.

"Back to Karkand" is free for gamers who purchased the Limited Edition of the game. All pre-orders of the game were automatically updated to the LE. It's not clear how much you'll have to pay for the pack otherwise.

BF3 launched in North America on October 25th. It hits stores throughout Europe today.
