Destiny House Of Wolves Screenshots Released, Patch 1.1.2 Coming Tomorrow

Destiny developer Bungie followed up on the first trailer of expansion pack House of Wolves with new screenshots. They also provided some information on what the expansion does and doesn't include.

I think most players assumed that House of Wolves would add a new Raid. The last one introduced to the game came with expansion The Dark Below back in December. That's a long time for hardcore raiders to wait for new challenges.

However, Bungie confirmed today that Wolves doesn't include an expansion.

"House of Wolves will not have a Raid activity," Bungie said. "We didn't make this decision lightly. Our team has been humbled by the reception of Raids in Destiny and we are creating a new Raid for a release later this year."

The expansion will still have a new co-op endgame activity, though. Bungie describes "The Prison of Elders" as a co-op battle Arena focused on "variety, replayability and skill."

Additional information on "The Prison of Elders" and House of Wolves' other features will be released in the coming weeks. Bungie announced a following schedule of the upcoming reveals they have planned:

  • Wednesday, April 22nd - Walking tour of the The Reef, with a live discussion about the upgrade paths for your gear.
  • Wednesday, April 29th - Reveal and live gameplay of Trials of Osiris and its collection of end game gear.
  • Wednesday, May 6th - Reveal and live gameplay of Prison of Elders, a brand new three-player cooperative multiplayer arena.
  • Friday, May 8th - Stay tuned!>

In House of Wolves, players will assist the Queen of the Awoken in fighting the Fallen. This journey will take them back to the Reef, the asteroid belt briefly visited in the base campaign. It's rumored that there will be a new social hub for players located in the Reef as well.

House of Wolves will launch on May 19th. Before the expansion debuts, though, Bungie will roll out Update 1.1.2 for the game. The patch is scheduled to launch tomorrow:

Update 1.1.2 will expand player's vaults and fix the problems with Destiny's older raids among other changes.
