E3 2009: Metroid: Other M Exclusive New Screencaps

published: 2009-06-02 11:28:51
Team Ninja dropped a pretty big bomb at this year’s E3 press conference for Nintendo and it happened to be a brand new Metroid game going by the gosh-awful name, Other M. In addition to the announcement we have a few snapshots of the game, too.

Team Ninja is bringing their classic Ninja Gaiden flair to the Metroid universe. That means tighter outfits, darker storylines, awesome cinematic sequences and more action than shaking your stick. Anyway, the gameplay looks absolutely stunning…for a Wii game.

Segments of the game appear to transition between first and third-person action sequences. It’s really awesome. New abilities for Samus have also been added, as Team Ninja seems to have explored the option of giving her more agile abilities and acrobatic maneuvers that were certainly not available in previous games.

Did I happen to mention that the graphics look amazing? Whether it was cinematic or in-game, all of the visuals have been drastically improved to offer gamers a truly next-generation experience for Wii gamers. It’s also funny because this was probably the most hardcore game on display during the Nintendo conference.

Metroid: Other M is due out in 2010, exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. You can check out some new snapshots of the game below. For further game details, info, updates and E3 coverage, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games.
