F1 2012 Dev Doc Compares Real Life To The Game
Codemasters released a new developer documentary that goes behind the scene of the Formula One racing scene and gets distinctive input from the actual drivers and F1 specialists on how well the game measures up to real life.
It's hard to tell if the drivers were just being nice for the cameras (it's hard to tell with promotional videos these days) but most of them agreed that using Codemaster's F1 racing sims has actually helped them to learn the tracks as well as to get a good feel for the vehicle. What's more is how they express that the approach to in-game racing can affect real-life on-track psychology. Check it out below.
It's just too bad we didn't get to see one ounce of gameplay. Bummer.
I'm curious, though, if Codemasters is starting to sweat some of the competition from the indie community with upcoming titles like Asseto Corsa and Project CARS? While Xbox 360 and PS3 sales for F1 2012 are guaranteed to go without much competition save for the upcoming Forza Horizon, the PC community seems to have a sizeable amount of high quality racing titles on the way.
Anyways, I can't wait to see exactly what Codemasters has in store with F1 2012 and how well the game will compare to previous entries in the series. The game is due out this September for major home consoles and PC. For more info feel free to visit the Official Website.
