First Batman: Arkham City Review Is A Perfect Score
Official PlayStation Magazine Australia is the first publication to release their review for Batman: Arkham City. They enjoyed the game enough to score it a perfect 10.
"Batman: Arkham City is not only the best superhero game ever made, it's one of the best games ever made full-stop," said the OPM review (via ArkhamCity.co.uk. "It takes the already superlative original and gloriously expands on it. It's a deeper game, more complex, more inventive, more mature. It brings the caped crusader's world to life better than any comic, movie or television show before it."
The review mentions that the game is "endlessly creative, perfectly moody, and technically flawless." The voice acting is said to be brilliant and the soundtrack fits the game to a T. The controls are complex but natural once you get the hang of them. OPM adds that there's a huge amount of replay value between the campaign, side missions, Riddler challenges and other game modes.
Only snippets of the review made it to the web, unfortunately. I would've liked to have read their impressions of the boss battles. Predecessor Arkham Asylum's boss battles were easily the worst part of that game. If Rocksteady managed to correct their course with Arkham City, well, that would be a game worth checking out.
Arkham City will hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 18th in North America and on the 21st in Europe. The PC edition is due sometime in November.
