It's been about ten months since Halo 3 was released and Bungie's offering some free swag to gamers who haven't pawned off their copy to Gamespot yet. Apparently July 7th is "Bungie Day" and they'll be offering a map and some other goodies for no charge.
The new map is called "Cold Storage" and it's a remake of the "Chill Out" map from the first Halo game. It's basically some sort of research facility. Also, for tomorrow only, you'll be able to download new gamer pics and a Bungie Day Xbox 360 dashboard theme for free.
Additionally, the Legendary Map Pack, the three maps released back in April, will have their price reduced from 800 Microsoft Points ($10) to 600 ($7.50). Of course, if you were willing to wait this long without downloading it, I imagine you'll wait until it's completely free. But what can I say, I like reporting on the slight market fluctuations of DLC.
