Left 4 Dead's release date was pushed back into late November but Valve Software will be giving you something to keep your hunger for brains at bay. The zombie multiplayer shooter will be getting a demo for both the Xbox 360 and PC versions.

Valve boss Gabe Newell confirmed the demo to Videogamer.com today, adding that "I think it's going to contain the first part of one of the campaigns. I think it'll probably be Hospital but I'm not sure." Newell also wasn't certain on a release date for the demo, though he did mention that it will be both single-player and multiplayer. If you play single-player, your three teammates are controlled by bots and the demo should give you a sense of how smart The Machine really is. More importantly, you could try the demo on both platforms to compare the two versions before you buy it.

Hospital is a segment of one of four 45-75 minute campaigns in Left 4 Dead. It was shown off in a developer walkthrough at this year's E3 (videos posted below). The game will be released on Xbox 360 and PC on November 21st.
