PS3 Mass Effect 2 Uses Mass Effect 3 Engine

Want to see some Mass Effect 3 gameplay footage? Well, you can't, but playing the PS3 Mass Effect 2 will give you a preview of the game's technology at least.

"We actually created the engine for Mass Effect 3 and used that to make Mass Effect 2 on PS3," producer Jesse Houston said on the BioWare podcast. "So we took the content, the story, and all of the other assets that made up Mass Effect 2, and we put it into the Mass Effect 3 engine."

The original Xbox 360/PC version of ME2 was tits to begin with so any sort of bonus feature feels like overkill. The PS3 ME2, along with DLC and an interactive comic, will be released next month.
