Microsoft has been pretty quiet regarding its holiday lineup. Well, most of Microsoft anyway. Seems someone from the company is running his mouth about Forza Motorsport 3.

A source within Microsoft has told VG247 that the third installment of the popular racing series will be released during the 2009 holiday season. Pretty big news, considering that the game hasn't even been officially announced yet. Its existence was confirmed by a leaked marketing survey last summer. According to the survey, the game will feature 400 cars and 100 tracks and offer a $20 VIP membership program that entitles gamers to free downloadable content and access to exclusive events.

In January, Xbox 360 Group Product Manager Aaron Greenberg hinted that Microsoft would wait until the summer to make any big announcements regarding their holiday lineup. Who needs official announcements, though, when employees are leaking big details like this?
