The second season for Telltale Games' The Walking Dead game could be a week-and-a-half away. Steam has updated their listing of the game with a December 17th release date.
You should be skeptical of any retailer posting dates before they're actually announced. Retailers tend to provide ball-park estimates rather than confirmed dates. For example, Amazon lists Elder Scrolls Online's release date as "December 31st, 2014." Steam generally doesn't do that sort of thing, though.
December 17th sounds like a plausible launch date, though. The company said earlier this week that Season 2 would be debuting in December. December 17th seems like as good of a time as any, as it's a Tuesday (the preferred launch day for North American games) and it's well before Christmas. That means Walking Dead won't have to compete for attention with the new Xbox One or PS4 that Santa will bring many gamers.
Season Two of The Walking Dead is a continuation of the storyline from the first season. This time around, though, the main character is Clementine rather than Lee. According to the new description on Steam, there's a bit of a time jump between the seasons.
Telltale has confirmed that other characters from the first season will appear as well. A recent screenshot showed Omid chatting with Clementine. The two were approaching Gil's Pitstop, the central location from the 400 Days DLC. Clem and Omid could run into some other familiar faces there.
Steam also lists system requirements for the game. You won't need too advanced of a rig to run the game on minimum settings: PC
