Witcher 3 Port To PS4 Will Be Easy, Says CD Projekt Red

Porting is serious business in the world of interactive entertainment. During this current generation of gaming porting has become front and center for most multiplatform games, mostly because ports don't always turn out so great. However, with CD Projekt Red and The Witcher 3, they're not worried because the PS4 is portastic.

Speaking with Kotaku [via Videogamer] Adam Badowski, the managing director for The Witcher 3 commented about the game's appearance on Sony's next-generation PlayStation console, the PS4, saying...”It's another platform, but PC-like. Which is cool,"

Kotaku paraphrases a lot (and I mean a lot) of information about the upcoming Witcher title from CD Projekt where Badowski explained to them a lot about the lore, the settings, the technology and some of the gameplay.

One of the biggest issues about games this gen was that sometimes ports would be ill-fitted to the platform, such as Bethesda's issues with getting Skyrim's DLC working on the PS3. This resulted in a lot of consumer backlash and rusted trust.

A good port of Witcher 3 from PC to home consoles should definitely make PC gamers happy that The Witcher is still being used on PC as the lead development platform and that console gamers will get a very worthwhile port that doesn't get hit with a lot of the hang-ups that became a cumbersome stumbling block during the early part of this generation.
