The sun'll come out this Christmas when Will Gluck's adaptation of the beloved musical Annie sings its way into our hearts. Sony released an international trailer for the feature film, which stars Quvenzhané Wallis as the title character. Much of it should look familiar enough if you've seen the previously released trailer, though there is one notable addition to this new video, as we see Annie serving an inedible (for humans anyway) breakfast to Jamie Foxx's Will Stacks. The dog seems to like it enough, and Stacks is willing to pretend...

This updated version of the story has Annie living as a young foster kid to Cameron Diaz's Miss Hannigan. Foxx's character is running for Mayor of New York City and, on the advice of his VP, Grace (Rose Byrne) and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (Bobby Cannavale), he takes little Annie in. This publicity ploy takes a turn as Annie and Stacks get to know one another. If you've seen the musical or one of the previous adaptations, you know how the story goes from there, but as the trailers indicate, this version is updated, so it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out this time around.

The 1982 feature adaptation, which starred Albert Finney, Carol Burnett, Tim Curry and Bernadette Peters, certainly set the bar high as a great adaptation of this story. That said, both of the trailers we've seen so far for this new take look (and sound) fun.

As mentioned, the international trailer added the breakfast scene, but it also removed the helicopter scene, which you can watch in the previously released trailer below:

Both trailers show off plenty of dancing...

Hopefully we'll get some new glimpses of the movie's musical moments as the release date approaches. We still have months to wait for this film to hit theaters. Annie's release date is set for December 19.
